My September

September 9, 2011

My September couldn’t be better.  We have our oldest son Carlos, his wife Casey, and their daughter Claire staying with us.  The big C’s will leave after ten days, and Claire will hang out with , Grandma Beth aka GiGi and Grandpa Raoul/PopPop for a month.  Seeing the world through a two-year old’s eyes is absolutely the best!

Thankful and Excited

December 30, 2010

2010 has been an amazing year of growth and change.  Raoul and I thinned our possessions by two-thirds.  We moved to a wonderful home that fits our current needs and makes us quite content.  I have changed the focus of my business from selling stuff to selling ideas through teaching, speaking and consulting.  I fit into a smaller pants size and feel most blessed for my good health.  I am really grateful for the strength, support and faith I have received from my family and friends.

I seem to thrive on change, and am looking forward to opening more new doors in the upcoming year.

I wish much health and happiness to all of you as well.

Happy Holidays

December 24, 2010

Happiest holiday wishes to you!  We’re baking, cooking, eating and visiting like crazy around here.  I hope all is healthy and happy your way too.

Time for Cooking and Baking

December 15, 2010

The meal planning is done.  Raoul and I have been to Costco and Top Foods.  Trader Joes’s is still to happen.  First up this morning – Chocolate Cherry Bars and Meatloaf with Chili Sauce.  A run to the airport to get our son Morgan and daughter-in-law Eileen, and the festivities (and eating) will begin!

Saving Stuff

August 27, 2010

When stuff is sentimental, my purging abilities come to a huge halt.  My  mom loved stuff too.  She even wrote notes about her favorite possessions on index cards, and kept them in a recipe box.  I’m glad she did, or I would have forgotten this great story.

The card says:

Doll dishes (blue with butterflies)

early 1920s

Blue – my first set of dishes

Cat jumped out of my arms, knocking cupboard down – broke all but these

2 plates

1 cup & saucer

1 sugar bowl and cream

1979 appraisal $10.00

2010 appraisal – There will be room for these at our new house.

Claire’s World Tour

August 18, 2010

Our granddaughter, Claire, is already a veteran traveler.  At the ripe old age of 14 months, she has been visiting 12 countries in Europe!  Here she is in Krakow, Poland strutting her stuff.

My son Carlos and his daughter, Claire.  Watching him be a loving dad is one of my great joys.
