Pepping Up a Tree Skirt

December 6, 2010

Moving = consolidating = discovery that I owned three handmade tree skirts.  The white one is on its’ way to NYC to cover the base of our son and daughter-in-law’s white tree.  One red one is being saved (short term) until I see if our other son and his wife would like it.  And number three got a quickie face-lift.

Here it is in its before state – a little bare with too many mystery stains on it.

I added more handmade felt bells from an unfinished tablecloth project I inherited along the way.  I glued them on with Fabri-Tac glue.  Then I used E-6000 glue to add the vintage Japanese holly sprays and the mother of pearl buttons.

During the process, our kitty Harry slept on it overnight and declared it all good!

Junk-O-Rama was a fun sale last Saturday, hosted by the ever-charming Todd Waddell, owner of Bountiful Home in Edmonds.

Sunny weather and nice people were in attendance.

Terrific things in enticing vignettes were there.

A special treat was meeting Sandra and Todd of Pink Marmalade, and ogling their swell hand-painted signs.

It was a dandy way to spend a Saturday morning!

Barn House Flea Market

August 2, 2010

Last Saturday, Raoul and I were out the door at the crack of dawn.  I think it was even pre-crack.  4:30 a.m.  And it was so worth it to be near the front of the line to enter the Barn House Flea Market.  Joe and Jermonne threw one heck of an event.  It was a junker’s heaven – fabulous vendors, charming hosts, a beautiful location, live music and delicious food!  We had such a good time visiting with friends, and making new ones.

I took a few pictures, but mainly spent my time admiring and ogling all the inspiring scenes.  And socializing.  Please visit some of my blogging friends – Melaine at My Sweet Savannah, Cindy at Haley’s Cottage, Deb and Bob at Retreat ,and Kimberly at Mimi Charmante to see their spectacular shots of the day.

Come Junk With Us

July 19, 2010

One of the best vintage sales in the Northwest is Barn House’s Flea Market on July 31 near Battleground, Washington.  And one of the very best ways to visit it is with Come Junk With Us.  Timi, the junket queen and tour guide supreme, is one of the funniest people I know!  There are still a few spots left on this junkers’ dream roadtrip.  Hop on over to her site to find out everything you need to know and do to get yourself a spot.

And here’s the scoop on this sale.
