Being Two Again

September 26, 2011

I feel very lucky to have this magic month with Claire.  Nearly every day I get to play on swings and go down all the slides with her at different parks.  Out in the garden, we look at honeybees, pick and immediately eat cherry tomatoes, and water the plants along with ourselves.  Inside the house, we wear our capes and play chase, color pictures, and read lots of books.  I love finding Claire’s creations, like the above scene with her friends.

What a kind and happy person she is.

Our House Sold!

September 22, 2011

Our house finally sold, and officially closed yesterday afternoon!  It was a sixteen+ months long challenging process.  I am so grateful that it is over.  Thank you to all of our family and friends for your good thoughts, support and love through it all.

Celebrate Organic with PCC

September 18, 2011

We spent a very fun Saturday morning at Oxbow Farm in Duvall.  It was one of the featured farms on PCC’s Celebrate Organic Fall Farm Tour.  Our granddaughter Claire got to climb on a tractor, sample salads and color at PCC’s kids truck, and see tall sunflowers and fields of pumpkins.  The highlight was the seeds house, where the kids got to open pods of beans, pull sunflower seeds out of the dried heads, and best of all – eat popcorn!

My September

September 9, 2011

My September couldn’t be better.  We have our oldest son Carlos, his wife Casey, and their daughter Claire staying with us.  The big C’s will leave after ten days, and Claire will hang out with , Grandma Beth aka GiGi and Grandpa Raoul/PopPop for a month.  Seeing the world through a two-year old’s eyes is absolutely the best!
